Pen and Ink detailing

I’ve been wanting to share this super fun easy idea I had recently. I was inspired by some tattoo art on Pinterest and wanted to try it with stamping. I start by trying different layouts until I find one I like, or use an outline stamp that I feel that works. This Altenew stamp felt perfect for this design!0386AB5E-9319-4BA2-A3EF-4D1D8966CF1592B53379-F06A-4244-B2B4-89BBEEA2E667

Then I tape down whatever shape I’ve decided to use. I use washi I tape and tape just the outside edge so it doesn’t get in the way of my pen work. On this design I used the same die I made a solid line on the inside and made a series of dots for the out side. I move the tape to the inside so I can make the dots for the outer line.

I use a Tee Ruler for the straight lines. This stamp was a layering stamp so I used the outline and the smallest detail stamp for a little added texture. I also added a few small dots on the outside edges of the diamond for a bit more detail and texture.
