No-line Watercolor

I want to start this post by saying how delighted I am to get to be on this team of incredible and inspiring designers! I truly hope to be able to inspire others as they have me.

I wanted to use a stamp I haven’t used for a while so I grabbed this lil cutie from Unity Stamp Co. called, Hello Little Birdie.

I started by stamping my image with Inkon3 Fadeout ink, but you could also use linen distress ink. I watercolored the background first and kept it subtle. Then I started on the bird using paint with lots of water and slowly built up the color in layers by adding more and more paint for each layer.  I added some feather details to give some dimension.

I often struggle with adding a sentiment, should I or shouldn’t I. I decided not to on this card, that way it can be whatever I need it to be.
